What does “the environment” mean to you?

It’s a big word. Maybe too big. It means everything from the worms and bacteria in the soil in my garden to the collection of all species and materials that exist on Earth. Ultimately, ‘the environment’ to me is the recognition that everything on our planet has an impact on everything else, even in ways we don’t (and won’t ever) truly understand. It’s the acknowledgement that we all have an impact, that we all matter.
